Scientists have found that the temperature on a mountain chain in Antarctica drops below -91 degrees.
Recently, scientists have found a place where the temperature drops below -91 degrees Celsius and at that temperature the eyes, nose, and lungs of the man freeze in just a few minutes. It is a mountain chain in Antartica and it is the coolest place in the world, the Daily Mail writes.
Record-breaking cold was discovered by scientists from the America’s National Snow and Ice Data Center, using satellite temperatures for Antartica. The coolest place is located at 3,799 meters above sea level on a mountain called Dome Fuji.
It is colder than the Russian research station Vostok where the lowest measured temperature was -89.2 degrees Celsius. Scientists believe there are some places on the Dome Fuji mountain that are even colder because the satellites measure the average temperature per square kilometer and claim that the cold reaches its maximum during the clearer weather.
Recall, the coldest inhabited place in the world is still the Russian village of Oymyakon where the average temperature in January is -50 degrees Celsius.
