Who says that the walls have to be boring?
Ombre (overflow of colors from bright to darker shade, or vice versa) has been popular for several seasons – as the hair, the nails, clothing, as on the walls in your home, and just about painting walls this time we are talking about.
After random rummaging Pinterest I came across a picture that explains step by step how to make beautiful greenish turquoise ombre wall (s portal PS- I made this …), so I decided to painting technique and to share with all of you, who may not have encountered on something like this.
What do you need?
Choose three colors and three shades of the same color – light, medium and dark shade. Do not add more color because you’re just unnecessarily complicate life.Get the color of the oil-based (oil paint) because the long drought, so you will have more time for mixing and blending between the transition from shade to shade.
When choosing colors try to obtain colors from the same palette, and make sure that the difference between them is not too large – as it will then be much more difficult aperture color.
How do ombre wall?
The real trick with ombre painting walls to make two additional color mixture – mixing the brightest shade with medium and high shade of the darkest. This color will help you as inconspicuous connect all in one unit which flow from the lightest to the darkest.
On the wall of a thin adhesive tape or a pencil to indicate the horizontal area in which goes every nuance.
From top to bottom it should look like this:
- brightest shade
- light + medium shade = medium shade no. 2
- medium shade
- Medium + dark shade = dark shade no. 2
- dark shade
We recommend that you do not paint the whole wall at once, but to divide it into several smaller vertical areas (as you will easily and quickly be able to all aperture). Now you can throw at coloring. To begin with, if desired, can the brightest shade or paint the entire wall (all horizontal areas) – or simply go fight after fight, the horizontal areas.
If you have decided to apply paint to fight – go from up to down, then apply all of these shades of color on the wall as we wrote above. When you are all shades inflicted, as fast as you can, while you struggle even dry, take a clean, dry flat brush and start aperture lines where they meet different shades (and you may need to add the way and mixed shades to make the transition as less visible). While the wall is still wet transitions can refresh water (use a spray bottle) – spray a little water and set the brush to mix shades of the crossings.
If you see that you do not brush and do not go blending – try the same with dry paint-roller or to interesting effect – the large natural sea sponge (pre-moistened).
Ombre wall can do without mixing colors
For a more dramatic look, you can use only two colors – dark and light.
