If, like us, you dread yet another limp sarnie eaten at your desk, get excited by Fat and Furious Burgers. This ‘thinking outside the box’ initiative is the brainchild of Thomas and Quentin, who aim to revitalise the weekday lunch by cooking up whacky burgers, covering them in decoration and photographing them in ostentatious settings – all during their lunch break. So how did the humble burger become a work of art?
Having founded ‘Furious’ Graphic Design and Art Direction Studio, creativity comes naturally to the proactive pair, whose shots of arty burgers have now amassed nearly 20,000 followers on Instagram and nearly 12,000 likes on Facebook.
Thomas and Quentin’s foodie projects follow particular themes, from Excaliburger, resembling granite, to the Burger d’Amour which comes trussed up like a giant toffee apple. Some burgers are painted and some come adorned with seeds, cocktail umbrellas and even wigs. This is not therefore, simply the making of a speedy fast-food classic – it’s the tongue-in-cheek creation of something bizarrely beautiful.
Having now published a ‘Fat and Furious Burger Cookbook’ with Michel Lafon, it seems not only are beautiful burgers bursting into the media mainstream, but will soon be arriving in our very own kitchens.
