Introduction
It is frustrating when trying to burn excess stomach fat but can’t shake it off. And losing the stomach fat is mostly the biggest challenge when you try to lose body weight.
Plus, it is not appealing to look at.
In this post, I’ll show you how you can lose that excess stomach fat and have a slim and sexy stomach.
1. Eat Lots of Protein
Most “gurus” agree with the fact that eating a meal that is high in protein is very good for you… and they’re right.
Eating lots of protein can:
- Make you fuller on less calories
- Prevent muscle loss
- Increases your expenditure on energy
- Improve the recovery and repair of your muscles
The thing is that if you don’t eat enough protein, you are not going to lose your weight, especially the belly fat easily enough. And who knows, you may give up when you notice you are not reducing that belly fat as well as you ought to.
2. Drink Plenty Water
When you drink lots of water, you trick your stomach into feeling like you’re already full, which will in turn make you eat less thereby causing you to reduce your overall weight; including the belly fat.
3. Eat less Calories than You Burn
Lets do a simple mathematics here;
If you eat 50 calories and burn 100 calories, how many calories will you have left?
The answer is Negative fifty (-50)
That’s the secret to burning your belly fat.
Eat less calories that you actually consume and in no time at all you’ll be flat bellied.
A simple example is doing high intensity workouts on an empty stomach.
4. Eat Lots of Fiber
Make sure you’re taking in lots of fiber in your body daily.
In one experiment, people who ate more soluble fiber by 10 grams a day (the equivalent of two small apples, one cup of green peas, and one half cup of pinto beans) generally reduced their belly fat by 3.7% after five years.
5. Go to Sleep
Only sleeping about 5 hours every night or less can cause a lot of belly fat according to a study made in Wake Forest University. (This particular one I am guilty of as I only slept 5 hours last night to write this post).
Try to get the adequate amount of sleep your body needs for proper functioning.

6. Try Yoga
Because Yoga workouts focuses more on strength and flexibility, it makes it one of the great ways to burn fat especially belly fat.
Yoga poses like “plank” (which is technically not a yoga pose) and “cobra” are great belly fat reducing exercises.
You can notice how the pose stretches are stomach, making it flat.
Plus generally, yoga is good for your health.
7. Don’t Stop Moving
This is another great way to reduce belly fat and your overall body fat.
Belly fat is a coward when it comes to aerobic exercises. I have not seen an active football player – because I play football everyday – who has lots of belly fat.
Aerobic exercises helps a lot with burning belly fat and you should find a way to begin an aerobic exercise if you don’t have one yet.
Some Aerobic exercises include:
Jogging
Playing football, tennis or squash
(To me, any sport is aerobic enough to reduce belly fat – I’m not sure about golf though).
8. Drink Coffee
Coffee helps to reduce belly weight too by increasing the amount of energy you burn daily which is a great way to reduce your belly fat.
9. Drink Green Tea
Also, add green tea to your regimen and drink it everyday, it also helps in reducing your belly fat.
Green tea has antioxidants called catechins, which helps to lose belly fat while exercising and those you drink it while exercising usually lose belly fat faster than those who didn’t take them.
10. Lift Weights
Weight lifting helps you to lose some belly fat plus it also helps you to add muscle mass to your body which is great. You should aim to be in great shape instead of skinny.
The best way to keep or even grow your muscles while reducing belly fat is to start lifting dumbbells because as far as muscles go, “you either use it or you lose it”.
